Joseph Oliveira  - President

Picture
FFA Experience: 
Joseph is currently a senior at Hilmar High School. This is his third year serving on the officer team; previously serving as the Sentinel and Treasurer. Throughout his time in the FFA, he has participated in multiple speaking competitions, the Dairy Cattle Judging Team, FFA leadership conferences, raising and showing Dairy Cattle for the county fair and so much more!

FFA Accomplishments:
Joseph is most proud of receiving his State Degree and being elected to serve on the 2024-2025 Central Region FFA Officer Team.  

Looking Forward To This Year:
Joseph is most looking forward to attending the FFA National Convention as a delegate in Indianapolis this fall.

Future Plans:
In the near future, Joseph plans to attend college and pursue a career in Agriculture focusing on communications.

Favorite Thing About FFA:
Joseph’s favorite thing about the FFA is how members can make connections across the state through our organization, and how everybody is welcome in the FFA.



Danielle Peebles - Vice President

FFA Experience:
Danielle is a junior at Hilmar High School and this is her 2nd year as a Chapter officer. She will be serving Hilmar FFA as our 2024-2025 Vice- President. She has participated in the FFA Impromptu Speaking Competition. She joined the Dairy Products Milk Quality Team her freshman year and will continue in that competition. Her team placed fifth in state this year so she will be working towards the win in 2025.  She continues to develop her leadership skills by attending FFA conferences such as Advanced Leadership Academy and FFA State Convention. 

FFA Accomplishments:
Danielle is most proud of being able to represent Hilmar FFA by attending National FFA Convention, and receiving the Star Chapter Farmer Award her Sophomore year. 

Looking Forward To This Year:
Danielle is looking forward to the new opportunities she will be creating throughout the year. She is excited to show members that FFA is an amazing organization to be a part of!

Future Plans:
After high school Danielle will be attending Wisconsin State University Madison where she will be majoring in Biology. She wants to become a diagnostic radiologist.  

Favorite Thing About FFA:
Danielle's favorite thing about FFA is working with her teammates to promote the agricultural industry amongst the students on our high school campus.

Breanna Souza - 2nd Vice President

FFA Experience:
Breanna Souza is a senior at Hilmar High and will serve as Hilmar FFA’s 2nd-Vice President this year. She has participated in the FFA Impromptu Speaking Competition. She has shown dairy cattle at her local county fairs for 9 years, and the last 3 years  as a member of Hilmar FFA. She also is a member of the Hilmar FFA Dairy Cattle Judging Team. She has attended the National FFA Leadership Convention in Indianapolis and plans to continue to develop her leadership skills by attending different conferences and conventions above the chapter level and meet many new people along the way.
 
FFA Accomplishments:
Some accomplishments Breanna is proud of, is placing in the top five in dairy cattle judging at multiple Dairy Cattle Judging competitions. She is also very proud of winning awards with her dairy animals.

​Looking Forward To This Year:
Breanna looks forward to attending the different conferences, competitions, and meetings. At these events, she likes to make new friends and learn more about what FFA has to offer. She hopes to inspire others to get more involved in FFA as well.  

Future Plans:
After high school, Breanna is planning on attending a 4-year, out-of-state university to major in Neuroscience. She hopes to get accepted into Florida State University. After university, she plans to attend medical school and become a neuropsychiatrist. 

Favorite Thing About FFA:
​Breanna's favorite thing about FFA is traveling with her fellow members to the different FFA activities around California, meeting new people from other chapters, and learning so many practical life skills.

 

Reese Ahlem  - Secretary

FFA Experience:
Reese is a sophomore at Hilmar High School and this will be her first year serving on the Hilmar FFA Officer Team. Reese is very active in the Hilmar Dairy Cattle Project. She plans to attend the State FFA Leadership Conference and participate in speaking competitions to prepare herself for future careers.

FFA Accomplishments:
Reese has exhibited multiple champion dairy cattle and represented Hilmar  FFA at local and national shows. She won the Stanislaus County Master Showmanship competition, which was a huge accomplishment for her.

Looking Forward To This Year:
Reese is looking forward to learning more about the opportunities FFA has to offer members and looks forward to serving the members of Hilmar FFA this year.

Future Plans:
Reese plans to major in Agriculture Business at OSU and stay involved in the agriculture industry throughout her life.

Favorite Thing About FFA:
Reese’s favorite part of FFA is all the leadership opportunities and learning more about animals through hands-on experiences.



Alden Kuchta - Treasurer

FFA Experience: 
Alden Kuchta is going to be a Sophomore. He has attended the FFA Greenhand Leadership Conference as well as the FFA State Conference in Sacramento. Alden showed a pig at the Merced County Spring Fair in Los Banos this past year. He also participated on the Hilmar FFA Ag Mechanic Judging Team.

FFA Accomplishments: 
Some accomplishments he is proud of is winning the Hilmar FFA Star Greenhand Award and the Ag Mechanics Outstanding Freshman Award.

Looking Forward To This Year: 
Alden looks forward to attending the FFA State Leadership Conference for the second time this year. Another activity he will participate in is the Ag Mechanics Judging Team. He is also looking forward to making new connections within his chapter.

Future Plans: 
Alden plans to attend a four year university and major in Agriculture.

Favorite Thing About FFA: 
Alden’s favorite thing about FFA is meeting new people and learning new perspectives. He also enjoys being able to socialize with ​members from other parts of the state, and even the nation.

Scotlynn Sanchez - Reporter

FFA Experience:​
Scotlynn is currently a sophomore at Hilmar high school and this is her first year serving on the Hilmar FFA officer team. Scotlynn also did numerous competitions such as FFA Creed and Project Competition her freshman year. She has been showing Market Goats for 6 years but last year was her first year showing with the FFA. Scotlynn has also attended FFA leadership conferences this year, these conferences have helped her to accomplish her personal goals.


FFA Accomplishments:
Scotlynn so far has been very involved within the FFA. Some of her accomplishments include Hilmar FFA Outstanding Agriculture Science student, and she was also proud of placing 10th at the section competition for FFA Creed.

Looking Forward To This Year:
Scotlynn looks forward to being able to reach out to others and inform them about the FFA and the benefits it can offer its members.

Future Plans:
After high school, Scotlynn plans to attend Fresno State or the University of Hawaii. She plans on going to these colleges in pursuit of becoming an Ag teacher or special education teacher. She would also like to continue breeding and selling market goats.

Favorite Thing About FFA:
 Her favorite thing about the FFA is the positive effects. It has encouraged her to face her fear and go out and be confident.



Linkin Landron - Sentinel

FFA Experience: 
Linkin is currently a junior at Hilmar High School and this is his first year serving on the Hilmar FFA officer team. Throughout his years in the FFA he competed in the FFA Impromptu Public Speaking Competition, he served as a delegate at FFA State Leadership Conference and has attended additional FFA leadership conferences.

FFA Accomplishments:
Linkin is most proud of earning his position as a chapter officer, and becoming delegate for the FFA State Leadership Conference. 

Looking Forward To This Year:
Linkin is looking forward to being involved in more FFA speaking competitions during the year.  

Future Plans:
Linkin plans on attending Modesto Junior College after high school and pursuing a career in Fire Science.

Favorite Thing About FFA:
Linkin’s favorite thing about the FFA is how so many high schoolers can be brought together to celebrate the things they have in common.

Kherington Azevedo - Historian

FFA Experience:
Kherington Azevedo is a sophomore at Hilmar High School. She is currently the chapter's Historian for 2024-2025 and this is her 2nd year in Hilmar FFA. Throughout Kherington's years of FFA she has exhibited multiple champion Dairy Cows and Heifers. She is planning on joining the Dairy Cattle Judging Team, while also doing FFA speaking competitions like Impromptu. She will also be competing in project competition this year.

FFA Accomplishments:
Kherington was thrilled with her winnings throughout all three county fairs this year, 2024. She received the following: Reserve Supreme Champion Dairy Female and Reserve Champion FFA Jr Holstein Female at the Merced County Spring Fair in May, Supreme Champion Registered Dairy Female at the Merced County Fair in June, and winning Champion Advanced FFA Dairy showman along with 2nd High Individual in Master Showmanship 

Looking Forward To This Year:
​Kherington is looking forward to joining the Dairy Cattle Judging team and competing at many competitions. She is excited for the Project Competition and hopes to further educate her fellow peers about the dairy industry. 

Future Plans:
After high school, Kherington plans to study embryology and breed her own herd of quality dairy cattle to exhibit at the national level.

Favorite Thing About FFA:
Kherington's favorite part of FFA is being able to meet new people and create lifelong friendships.
